Ajman is smallest of the States of the federation with
only 260 km². Located at the edge of the Arabo-Persian Gulf, it
also includes/understands two agricultural enclaves in the back-country,
Masfout (to 110 km in south-east) and Manama (60 km in the east). Its
population is approximately 135 000 inhabitants, mainly gathered in
the homonymous capital. The population knew a strong growth these last
years because of immigration coming from the other emirates of and Sharjah,
as well as other countries. Its current leader is the emir Cheikh Houmaid
bin Rachid year-Nouaïmi. The crown prince is a Sheik Ammar bin
Houmaid year-Nouaïmi.
